UnEqual and Poor

Two excellent from Sour Duck:

21st Century Employment: For Many it’s all work, no benefits which is disturbingly true.

Links to stories related to August 26, Women’s Equality Day. I don’t, and won’t, celebrate any holiday which promotes the belief that women are ‘equal’. The day celebrates women getting the vote in the United States, but that doesn’t mean we’ve achieved equality.

  1. SB says:

Whoa, you’re tougher than I am on this stuff. And that’s saying something.

  2. Sour Duck says:

    Thanks.

Re: Women’s Equality Day. From The National Women’s History website:

“The observance of Women’s Equality Day not only commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, but also calls attention to women’s continuing efforts toward full equality.”

So, as I understand it, the day is a reminder of ongoing efforts, in addition to being a celebration of past milestones.
