Squid on the Move

Thanks to Doug for the link to this post on Humboldt (Jumbo) squid migrations. The entire weblog is a real find if you’re interested in all things deep blue.

The makers of tech.meme need to create another page for tracking posts related to science, and not just politics and weblogging/tech; the latter of which features about 10 people linking to each other. At least with a site tracking science stories, we’ll learn something interesting.

Do you have a good list of science blogs or news site? We can create one.

As a start, you could look at Science Blogs at http://scienceblogs.com/. Note, though, that they also spend a lot of time talking about politics, but they’re a starting point. You could ask them to recommend weblogs that focus primarily on science and then go from there, as well as put out for recommendations from other readers.

You could also look at who links specific stories and follow the threads back to see who is or is not a ‘science blog’, or one that focuses more or less on some scientific field.

I really like the Scientific American blog at http://blog.sciam.com/ for keeping up on general science news. The Science Blogs site listed above was too high traffic for me.
