Welcome to my new home
I liked Movable Type so much that I decided to make the move even though I haven't finished all the back end processing.
For the most part, this won't be a problem as long as you'll all be patient with odd fits and starts. Oh, and the weblog might be off at times, too.
If you know Unix or one of its variations then you'll know what I mean when I say that I love ln -- the link utility! Unix will always kick Windows butt by providing access to powerful command line utilities such as ln when you're making a move as I am with the weblog. The smartest move Apple's made is basing Mac OS X on Darwin, the FreeBSD Apple derivative. (And the Titanium laptop was a pretty good move, too.)
I love Movable Type. I love Unix. I love Linux. I love FreeBSD. I love my Mac OS X and Darwin. I love all of you! I love the really good margarita I just had!!
BTW -- if you link to me, could you please change your link to point to this new location (weblog.burningbird.net), babies? The Bird will be eternally grateful.

It's 'interesting' changing the URL's of links within MovableType at 2.58am isn't it? You owe me a beer. :-)
Done (link changing, that is). I didn't know you were using a Mac. I love my Mac as well. And UNIX. And Movable Type. Life is good :)
I have two laptops -- a Dell running a dual boot with Windows 2000 and Redhat Linux, and the titanium. My hosted web server runs FreeBSD. Between the three I run five OS daily. Keeps me on my toes!
Dear Plutonian Commander
Link is changed ;-)
This link changing should rocket you to the top of Daypop/Blogdex, BB, FWIW. Same for Jonathon. I have screenshots of Daypop from when I moved to emptybottle.org and everyone changed their links, justifiably figuring that'd be the last time *that* would happen. I think I topped out at #9...15 seconds of fame.
at #8 on Blogdex this morning, Shell.
Repointed to weblogs.burningbird, I agree with you about the joys of unix ;)
So if I manage to persuade my seminary to go MT2, will you be there to hold my hand as we gear up? Can't imagine anyone I'd rather pester about it.
You bet Adam! Even if the seminary is running Windows...;-)
I have a complaint :-) - I have a cable modem and it took me ten tries to read your "I'm moving" note before I got transported over here. I was afraid I might have missed something!
Happy new Blog warming! I brought wine!
You guessed--it's a Windows server, in fact a Windows-centric institution. The IT person told me that we couldn't support Macs on the network. They didn't want responsibility for all the horrible things that would happen if I used a Mac, so they put up part of the money for a PowerBook and let me own the machine if I promised not to charge them for any of the maintenance problems I was sure to have ($0 since June 1999). Not that I'm irritated.
I am in the process of trying to induce the seminary to start a self-hosted blog server, but it's tough to argue with people who know so little.
Adam: Bring in the guns -- you have access to about 20,000 people or so who can help you convince your institution to "see the light".
Would be a good blog thread. Answer the question: How would you convince my Seminary to do....
