TechnologyMT claims another...

One last post.

Another Plutonian has come over to the MT side -- welcome Will otherwise known as Transcendental Petroglyphs.

Now, is Mr. Delacour going to share his Radio to MT conversion secrets and scripts? The world awaits anxiously.

And the question remains: Who's Next? Who will be the next to ...

...Come over to the MT side...

(Kath? AKMA? Karl? Dave?)

Boy that was fast. I just made the switch. I think I'm supposed to give Jonathon my notes so that we can pass everything along to the next person(s). I had some, uh, unique, problems because I did a lot of my conversion on Mac OS X and the Perl installation on Mac OS X is a bit unusual (and incomplete). Most people who are using NT and Linux probably won't run into the same trouble.

Poop. I still had my old site programmed into my comments for your site. I'm probably going to have to go around and "fix" that all over the place :) But Jonathon/Herman have a solution for that problem as well, of course.

Will, I wouldn't mind hearing about your Perl experiences on Mac OS X for the Unix Power Tools book.

My money is on Mike Golby.

As for the conversion procedure and scripts, there are no secrets. Now that Will has made the transition successfully, anyone else who is interested can get in touch with me. We want to test the process with a couple more people at least before sending the documentation and scripts to Ben Trott.

I'm trying, I'm trying. You can read my latest tale over on my Blog. I don't usually post tech stuff there, but since moving to MT and getting my new PC set up have been taking up most of my time, I figured I might as well blog about it. I haven't had time to write about anything else.

Bill Kearney make a Radio-->MT export tool (drops into Radio) *months* ago, track him down.

Will: That's the beauty of the MT 'find and replace' feature. Shelley can do it for you, almost no hassle.

Jonathan: I'm with you. That'd be money well spent. And as Fast Eddie said, "Money won is twice as sweet as money earned."

Bb: http://david.wheeler.net/osx.html is a good place to find fairly detailed info about how to get XML::Parse.pm and expat and such up on Mac OS X. Once I've recovered I want to put together some notes. I need to get notes to Jonathon and I can try to remember everythind I did on Mac OS X and let you know about that as well.

Shannon: Thanks for the tip. I haven't played with 'find and replace' yet. Sounds fun.

count me as one who just came over to the MT side (from blogger pro). still learning the system, but after a few false starts, got the site up and migrated from blogger quite nicely.

Bill's tool does the trick for Radio posts but doesn't handle comments. The work that Herman and I did assumes that you have comments associated with your Radio posts that you also want to bring into MT.

I assume that Bill could adapt his tool to export the comments as well in about ten minutes...
