MetabloggingAnd another shot...

Just in case my previous posting doesn't piss enough people off at me - and it will - may I pass on to you this link to an entire page that the person known as The Head Lemur has written because I expressed my opinion about realtime blogging.

Shelley Powers wants to be the Center of the Universe.

But let's not stop there. Please, feel free to use my comments to add links to other postings that discuss my vanities, my inabilities, my lack of objectivity, my paleo-leftist tendencies, my anti-Semitic nature, my pro-terrorist nature, that my weblog sucks, and I don't give a shit about the people around me, my life, all of you, and the world at large.

No, seriously, I haven't been dumped on enough this week. I need more. You would be doing me a kindness to donate to the pile. Get out your hammer and nail the lid down, tight.

Jonathon, you'll be heartened to know that kitsch is alive and well and living in the blogosphere. And I'm it.

Shelley, how can you honestly concern yourself with the opinion of anyone who uses Capricious Capitalization to get their point across?

Anyone who reads your blog regularly knows that guy's posting is utter tripe. Hell, you sent me an apology yesterday for pulling a posting, just because I had a comment attached.

You consistently link to and empathize with people in the blogging community and beyond when life deals them a shitty hand. If Head Dipshit chooses to take a post where you decided to exert your opinion and individuality, then fuck him. It's your weblog, as we've all said before, and you can do what you want.

While I cannot infringe upon Head Idiot's right to express his opinion, he also can't infringe upon your right to express yours. So do it, like you've been doing so eloquently and intelligently for so long.

And I will, too: Head Lemur, take your pitiful opinion, on your poorly designed site (with its over-abundance of ridiculous formatting and big words you don't understand), and shove it up your arse.

Thank you, and goodnight.

I think you rock, and I don't need 4 syllable words to express that.

I like kitsch.

You can consider it a compliment - obviously you've just earned you're own winer-boy. That means that you're opinion had an effect on him. You're gaining rock-star status.

What shall we call the detractors here....

Hmmmm... bird-brains? pecker-heads? burining-pencils? (ewwww)

hehe.

don't get me wrong though ... I'm not making light of it. I find slamming people in blogs irresponsible and wrong. Discussion is good - but outright slams are friggin' callous. People should get back in the habit of sending flame e-mails. At least those don't get indexed by Google and have an effect on someone's reputation.

Posted by: Karl aka paradox1x on May 24, 2002 04:22 PM

The only reputation hurt here today is that of the person who attacked. No person of any intelligence, spiritual or otherwise, would respect him after reading the post. Even if the points he made were true, not subjective truth. Which they arent. An opinion is an opinion. To rule your's to be the only correct one is sure sign of intellectual immaturity.

Shelley, you mentioned something in a comment on Blogsisters about people who get their jollies off testing limits. Don't give this lemur thingy his jollies.

You deserve better than having your buttons pushed in such a sophomoric way. Objections are valid, this guy was just deliberately being provocative to garner attention. I don't see anything conceited about expecting people to actually focus on and pay attention to a speaker. Oh yeah, and I like kitsch too.

You're the center of *my* universe, BB!

Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on May 24, 2002 06:11 PM

Ive already posted a comment about the head lemming in the previous post.

According to the Oxford, a lemur is any arboreal primate of the family Lemuridae, with a pointed snout and long tail, and an appropriate description of the man's photograph on his code-bloated site.

The man's arguments are fickle and without merit., and I'm not in the mood to go though the morass and take him down.

In an earlier comment he congratulates you for breaking his "writer's block' -- forsooth, he must have been blocked up.

Perhaps he is jealous. He definitely has a high opinion of himself. He and I are both on the Evolt list and I usually skip the posts with his name on them because he tends to rant at everyone. And really - what was his point anyway? Fugeddaboutit!

Besides how can you take someone seriously when they think the abbreviation for etcetera is "ect" :-)

His cat is cute though!

Posted by: Kath on May 25, 2002 07:31 AM

He does have a cute cat.

BTW - if I could gather you all into a room and throw my arms around you, I'd squish you all until you were breathless.

Bb way of saying "Thanks. You guys rock!"

hey! thats my saying! :P

usually when someone tries (keyword being tries) to pick apart another person it's due to outright envy. Instead of being hurt by this you should be flattered. If he felt your weblog wasn't note worthy he wouldn't have taken the time or the effort. I have seen time and time again during my skipping through weblogs references and links to YOUR weblog. I have never heard of his weblog until your reference. So, what does that tell you? As my mother has always said, "The opinions of worthless people are worthless." girl! it ain't no thang! *wink*
