Tracking the Tracker

Heat index in St. Louis today was 105. That's 1-0-5. Rather than out finding new paths, I'm keeping my San Franciscan acclimated butt inside, playing around with the new version of MT.

Stavros - someone is watching you. Hee Hee.

(Now, you're all supposed to go over to Empty Bottle and see trackback in operation. Who else wants to play?)

I don't understand how this works... What do I do with this link http://burningbird.net/cgi-bin/mt-tb.cgi?tb_id=5) that's embedded in your TrackBack popup, if I want to refer back to this post?

When you write your post, copy this trackback url into the box that is labeled "URLs to ping" at the bottom of the edit page. You don't have to embed a link to my weblog posting.

Hmm. What if I want to ping a post from a comments thread? Not possible I guess?

Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on June 29, 2002 07:48 PM

Sure, but you couldn't use trackback, just embedding regular URL instead.

St. Louis isn't so bad in the summer. After all, there are days where the heat index doesn't get into three digits.

I'm a hopin' Brennan. I'm a hopin'.

I come from a much hotter, more humid part of the country than STL. Of course, come winter, I find myself wondering why I didn't stay there.

(Then I go home for Christmas and remember.)

What are the platform requirements for MT? Must be some reason I'm not using it. Can't remember nuthin and never write stuff down. Color me duhhh...

Frank, you need CGI access and the ability to run Perl scripts. See the MT requirements list.
