Thanks
Thanks to Dorothea and her defense of my Doc Searls posting. Dorothea touched on what bothered me the most about the reactions to this posting. However, I've had my say on the topic; see Mike Golby and Jonathon Delacour if you want to continue this discussion.
Also, thanks to those who read my posting and linked to the Daily Summit World Summit weblog. Regardless of our stand on any one issue, it's important to at least be informed.

Any time, Bb. Though I suspect Jonathon's going to eviscerate both of us.
Ah, well. What's a few guts among friends?
Dorothea, as Jonathon wrote he'll provide a 'spirited defense of Doc'. Perhaps what he writes will be in defense of Doc's original statement; perhaps in offense of my reply. Both our replies. Hell, all of our replies ;-)
Regardless, I don't see him eviscerating either of us. This implies that he'll 'take away the vital or essential' part of our discussion, which further implies that he is somehow superior in skill to you or I in debating skills.
Jonathon's an excellent debater, but I don't consider him superior to either of us.
Ah, well. It all washes out in the end. As long as he has fun.
Either of you can kick me around the block and you know it. It's not exactly difficult. I'm such a weenie.
I doubt I'm going to argue this one, frankly, because I'm more interested in the meta-argument than the argument itself -- the train wreck intrigued me; the bit of gunk on the tracks that caused the wreck didn't, much.
And thanks for sending so many people our way to join the fun...
