Essential Blogging
"Essential Blogging" has hit the streets, available at a bookstore near you. O'Reilly has put my chapter, "Advanced Blogger", online if you want a peek.
I haven't received my copies yet. Hopefully soon.
In the meantime, I'm finishing up the writing for the RDF book in the next few weeks. Time to weblog less, work on book more.

Shelley -- It's been out for weeks. I hope the editing of the main part of the book is better than the editing of the front matter. I'm thanked not only by Scott Johnson (on page xiv), but in the collective thanks at the bottom of page xiii I get thanked as "Guy K. Hass" and as "Guy Haas" (out of alphabetic order). Then, at the top of xiv, they have thanked a number of people who inexplicably have commas between their first and last names. Way to go, NT.
Actually, Guy, that's an old custom in the book business. We muck up the preface, drawing all the bad ju ju to it, rather than the book itself. The more mucked up the preface, the cleaner the rest of the book. Three "Guy Haas", must be worth at least three clean chapters ;-)
Seriously, one of the problems with a multi-author book is trying to pull all the pieces togther, and the preface is one area that can be especially hit hard. Poor Nat was up all night more than once trying to lasso in us onery weblogger/authors.
I wondered if the book was out, but I usually get my copies the same time the stores get theirs. Me thinks my copies ended up in San Francisco...
Two "Haas"s and one "Hass" (an all-too-common typo). I e-mailed Nat about it, and he asked whether I would buy the idea that they were giving me extra honor....
Yes, your copies probably went to your old address.
Why, when there are multiple authors, do they not indicate who was responsible for what chapters (when, in fact, people did do whole chapters)?
They usually do, Guy. We used author initials for every author who contributed to each article in Unix Powers Tools, 3rd Edition. Surprised they didn't with this book.
