Welcome to the Burningbird Flick-a-Pair Match game.

Where the very old meets the very new...the Javascript used to play this game was created in 1997, using DHTML cross-browser elements that have not changed since 2001. The photos are retrieved from the Flickr Recent photo stream, using 2005 REST API calls.

The object of this game is to match up similar images. To begin a round click on any of the boxes that has not been matched (no star) and that has no image. Then click on another. If the images exposed are the same, you win the round and the images are removed from the game. The images from the current round will remain displayed until you click anywhere in the playing field to end the round and begin another, or to end the game if the last two images are matched.

It may take a few minutes for the photos to download for the larger game boards, so be patient. If you run into 'images not currently available', chances are these were photos that started out public, but whose owner than changed the status to private once they had entered the 'stream'. These are rare, but they still work in the game--matching with any other missing image, so you can consider them a 'wild card'.

When you're finished, you can either click the button to close the window, or use your browser reload functionality to play a new game.
